Cardiff and District Law Society invites you to the inaugural meeting of the Employed Advocates Network. This is an open invitation to join us for this free event.
Our first meeting for this new network will take place on Friday 21 February 2025 at Blake Morgan LLP, One Central Square, Cardiff, from 6PM onwards.
Advocacy skills are a core component of the work undertaken by varied range of legal professionals and even though the buzz of a court or tribunal room can be invigorating, it can sometimes be isolating particularly if there are long periods away from home etc and the employed environment.
This is why the President of Cardiff & District Law Society, Trish D’Souza, wants to explore what value a dedicated network in Wales could offer.
What to expect
The purpose of this event is to generate a roundtable discussion about the benefits to be gained from developing a local network for all those that conduct court/tribunal advocacy in an employed capacity.
We want to meet and hear from those who undertake advocacy in an employed capacity (whether an in-house barrister, solicitor, solicitor advocate, CILEX Advocate etc).
There will be an opportunity to socialise afterwards.
Who should attend?
The meeting is open to members and non-members alike and we would especially like to see and hear from a range of employed barristers and CILEX Advocates.
