Cardiff & District Law Society invite you to join us in welcoming our new Annual Partner for 2023, Centurion Chartered Financial Planners to the Society with the launch of a specialist Miniseries of in-person events for lawyers.
EVENT 1: 31 January 2023, 5:00pm-6:30pm – BOOK HERE
Centurion Chartered Financial Planners aim to explain what good financial advice and investment management look like in a changing world, and to explain why it is in clients’ best interest to understand this, and to show you some practical examples of specialist financial planning and investment management in action.
The events are a safe, welcoming space to ask questions, understand the principles behind best interest financial planning and offer confidence to lawyers to navigate through the changed economic landscape, how to maximise support for clients in family law, private client / capacity matters, for those planning for Later Life (including Care Fees), as well as in serious injury and medical negligence litigation.
The full schedule for this mini-series can be found below.
Who should attend?
Our four exclusive events have been designed to support lawyers who work with vulnerable clients in the fields of family and divorce law, private client, lawyers supporting individuals in Later Life and professional fiduciaries of all forms.
What to expect
The four events will be hosted in Cardiff, from January to April 2023, and will provide an ideal opportunity to hear from independent financial advisors and investment managers on how to support vulnerable clients in a changed economic landscape – and will, importantly, support lawyers to work in the best interest of their clients at all times – and ensure the financial professionals they work with are in a position to do the same.
Each event includes a series of talks, delivered by Centurion Chartered Financial Planners and guest speakers, and the chance to network informally with peers and speakers. Centurion will deliver this event series in conjunction with one of its specialist investment partners, Brooks Macdonald Asset Management.

Event 4: Roundtable
27 April 2023 (3pm-5pm)
In this final event, we will invite lawyers and law firms that are interested in discussing the business case, and hearing from other law firms on how to effectively and compliantly integrate Financial Advice into a law firm’s Service Proposition.
Chatham House Rules will apply at this event as it is a unique opportunity to hear the experiences of thriving, forward-thinking law firms that offer holistic legal and financial services to their clients, while remaining independent and compliant. It’s your chance to ask how they have culturally and practically moved towards offering a holistic service, the benefits to clients, and to the law firm financially and in terms of growth.
