With hybrid working becoming the new norm following the pandemic, what does this mean for those seeking work experience?

Cardiff & District Law Society’s BAME Sub-Committee invites you to a discussion exploring the difficulties facing BAME individuals in trying to obtain work experience. We will explore the impact this has had on the BAME community following the recent shift to hybrid working.

Join us for a discussion with a breadth of representatives across the profession, on how we identify the key challenges and the way in which the local sector can continue to support and provide work experience opportunities for BAME individuals.

What advice do you have for BAME individuals seeking work experience, given the barriers caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the inevitable changes to the way we’ll all be working in the future?

Speakers & what to expect

• Lucy Lewis (Lewis Silkin) will offer a perspective about why diversity is important at all levels – even more so in the wake of Covid,
• Paul Clayton (Eversheds) will offer the HR/recruitment perspective of how BAME individuals could perhaps market themselves better and how agile working can compliment remote working.
• Monnaza Hassan (Eversheds Sutherland) will share a view on supervision whilst working remotely.
• Ferial Khan (Capital Law) will share a view on how to gain either in house/private law firm experience in lockdown.
